Enter the room and examine the control panel. Tell Selphie to just press whatever. As you leave the room the maintenance team will accost you. Try to talk your way out of the fight unless you enjoy pointless fighting. Make your way back to the room with the save point. As you approach the doorway all the guards entered through one of them will come out and ask you to help them. Agree to it and enter the room. There is a draw point in this room you should grab in front of Silo Jump in with the other guards to slowly move the launcher.
Walk out and examine the control panel on the wall to the right of the door. Make your way up the stairs to the right of the screen the guard will let you past now and get ready for a battle.
This is just another standard fight only with a lot more talking. Examine the computers to try and stop the missile launch. You need to examine the big one on the left first, then the one on the right, then the one at the back of the room, and then the one through the doorway at the back of the other room. But do not wander off too far with the truck; the vehicle does not have a lot of fuel to spare. Enter the building and examine the ID card reader to the right of Door 3.
Go to Area M-7 and talk to the Maintenance Soldier on the left. Go to Area M-6, enter the missile launcher bay, and deliver the message to the far soldier. Return to Area M-7 and deliver the response to the soldier on the left. There's a hidden Full-Life draw point in the launcher bay as well. Go to Area M-3, enter the circuit room, approach the control panel, and cause a power failure.
Find the Guard outside the launcher bay, play it cool and offer to help. As long as you refrain from fighting the Maintenance Team and help the Guard, you should be able to keep your identity secret. If the temptation to do violence or run away gets the best of you and you're found out, you'll have to go about your remaining objectives in a slightly different order.
Bypass the launcher bay and head directly to the control room. Defeat the enemies, find the launch control mechanism and set the self-destruct mechanism.
Head for the exit until Selphie decides to go back. Make your way to Area M-6 and talk to the Wounded Soldier lying at the foot of the stairs to the control room. Go to the missile control panel and enter the password. Change the error ratio, upload the data and head for the front gate.
Now assuming you are undiscovered, enter the bay, get between the two soldiers and push the launcher into place. Find the missile control panel outside the launcher bay and log in. Following the catwalk in M3 to the right leads to another area, M5, with a longer catwalk overlooking the missile silos, which leads ahead then bends to the right with stairs down to another screen. The next area, M6, consists of another catwalk leading around and right to the next exit.
It contains a save point in the top-left corner, a door to the missile launch room at the top half-way through the catwalk, and stairs at the end of the catwalk on the right that lead to the control room, a smaller room filled with computer terminals. Behind the stairs on the left end of M6 is a path that leads to M7, a wide platform area above metal grating with a Blind draw point, and two maintenance soldiers on duty.
The missile launch room, accessed via the door at the top of M6, is a wide room containing missiles, with maintenance soldiers on duty, and a hidden Full-life draw point. While infiltrating with a disguise, no enemies are encountered. Depending on how the player performs during the mission, SeeD experience 2 levels is the max one can win in this part of the game, but to get a perfect SeeD upgrade in the Missile Base mission, the player must make the right choices.
Although there are many moments where the game asks the player to make a choice, only three affect the SeeD rank: passing on the correct information to the soldiers, choosing to fight or not, and the amount of time the player sets for the self-destruct mechanism. The reward for the mission starts at points but points are detracted by wrong choices. If the player accumulates penalties, another small one will be applied at random, always between 3 and 8 points.
Selphie's team infiltrates the Galbadia Missile Base in an attempt to stop the attack on Balamb Garden. The base has a terminal with an option to view the various equipment involved in the missile strike.
By holding down and and by pressing or , the player can witness hidden views of a Soldier and an Elite Soldier dancing on the monitor. While the main story only involves Selphie entering the complex, Squall also has a chance to approach the gate earlier on before or after reaching Deling City on disc one. Should Selphie's party approach the gate without a transport, a short scene occurs where Selphie ends up cursing and seemingly doing obscene hand gestures at the guard. Each character in Selphie's party makes a different comment as they wait for the base's detonation.
