Alright, let's see if I can shed some light on the topic at hand BTW, what follows from here is my own personal view of these characters, which may differ from those of others. Well, the most obvious trait of Violent Ken would be the inclusion of his Rasetsu Kyaku. That would be his forward dash move, which can be immensely useful. Other than that, he moves slightly faster than regular Ken, spends less time in the air when jumping, and his aerial Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku ALWAYS travels on a forward, horizontal path, regardless of which way he is jumping.

Speaking of his Tatsumaki, Violent Ken's variation always knocks the opponent down, much like Ryu's does, which is unlike regular Ken's, which deals multiple hits while lacking a knockdown effect.

Also, he has slightly higher-than-usual damage output, but has a little less health than his regular self. Ken's rich, Ryu is poor. The history of Street Fighter hitherto existing society is the history of class struggle. Kyle - True, but in Streetfighter Alpha takes place after SF1 but before SF2 Ryu has a white headband, the white one ends up ruined during Ken and Ryus fight which is why he takes Kens red one he used to use on his hair.

Was that accurate then, or is it now? People also complain about Evil Ryu being like Akuma, but he's nothing like him in actuality. It's the difference between taking a glance from a far and actually getting into the lab and grinding out these characters.

Try that out, you'll see how different Ryu and Ken are. Anti-hype, too many people going to flock to him. Wasn't lacking to begin with, buffs are a bit too much.

I enjoy people "sleeping" on a character they don't think is good, and that element of surprise will be gone when everybody and they mama plays E. It's awesome that a no meter bnb does damage and that his sweep will be 6 frames, but that also means that he can likely tatsu to sweep everyone, and with more health that makes him incredibly appealing to people.

He wasn't low tier, already high mid tier in my opinion. Not breaking characters. Like I said, he wasn't lacking in anything. Ryu has shankunetsus like Akuma. Evil Ryu has a lot going for him but his low health and stun are his crutches. That aside, his DPs have great horizontal range, very high dmg output, a kara throw, a good forward dash, and all useful EX moves.

He looks cool too. I will test more in fights. Besides that the main difference is Ryu has a stronger zoning game than Evil Ryu who is more like an in your face type character. And the health difference is really, really the difference between the two.

Normal Ryu also seems a much more safer character if I can say? Problem with Evil Ryu compared to other Shotos are his aweful links. Most of the damaging combos using cr. If the opponent is crouching, you need to perform a one-frame link, and used constantly during a match is a pain for the user.

MP xx Hadoken works, but who cares!? MP, st. LP, cr. Cross up Tatsu, cr. But whoaaa! Sure ER can score some damage, but how with all those missing links! Really disapointed by the character. I feel you need to play him a lot like Ryu would be played but he has more mix ups.

Not a fan of his dive kick. I mained Akuma before this and I do miss his awesome teleport, his air fireballs and that sHK poke is just nasty. Hes a lower health, less offensive options, hard linking, character that will not be played often. Hes low tier. Is my execution that shitty or am I just bad at the game or just both??

It really makes no sense, why he was designed this way. That being said, I still love playing him but he needs improvements. Not to become top tier, just to be a fair and balanced character. So hopefully Capcom has room for one more update. I think. He sucks. Sure, he hits hard, no doubt, but the majority of what he has borrowed is straight out inferior to where he borrowed it from.

Teleport is slower than Akuma. If you're after a more diversified gameplay, with a focus more on constantly crashing down powerful moves onto opponents, then Evil Ryu will probably be the one for you. I'd say pick Ryu is better just because of his footsie game.

Evil Ryu is better if you're more agressive. Rion View Profile View Posts. Ryu is easier to play with than E. But if you want badass, hard hitting combos, pick E.

I prefer normal ryu myself, easier to defend with. MK range at a cost of additional 1 frame startup compared to ryu - cr. MK - cr. MK kara throw best in the game IIRC, but execution is extremely difficult - good hit confirms - more ultra opportunities since you can finish any BnB with it, as long as you have FADC meter to spare - cr. MP kara demon - s.
